Celebrate Recovery
Small Group Leaders should have at least one year of recovery and have worked through a 12-step study.
If the leader has experience in secular 12-step programs he/she will need to become familiar with the Celebrate Recovery program as well as begin a CR step-study before being allowed facilitate a small group. There is no teaching involved in leading the open share group.
These groups are gender specific and geared usually toward specific recovery issues.
The main difference between Celebrate Recovery and traditional recovery programs is that we recognize Jesus Christ as our only higher power and only He can help us recover.
Worship is “expressing our love to God for who He is, what He’s said, and what He’s doing.”
There is a need for worship instrumentalists and background vocalists.
This role includes skill in running sound, lights, PowerPoint, and also streaming from Celebrate Recovery’s website. We may have a DVD player available for some resources.
It will not be as involved as a Sunday morning sound board, and is much more scaled-down.
This is a huge part of Celebrate Recovery because having childcare available will make it possible for many individuals and family members to participate in the program.
Our goal is to have a large enough team of childcare workers so that one would only have to commit to 1-2 Tuesday evenings per month.
The Info Team is there to to answer questions, direct people, make connections and handle resources like the handouts and pamphlets, and bible sales.
Greeters are extremely important both in making a positive first impression on all newcomers and in encouraging regular attendees.
In addition to greeting, they also hand out the Celebrate Recovery bulletin for the evening and can also direct newcomers where they need to go.
We anticipate our Large Group meeting to begin at 6:15 pm on each Tuesday night. Therefore, the setup team should arrive at 5:15 – 5:30 to prepare the rooms needed.
Tasks include: Table/chair setup, podium, stage (Including helping the band), and help with snack and refreshment setup in lobby.
The lobby will be open 1 hour early for people who may desire coffee or other refreshments and/or snacks from our “Solid Rock Café.”
People will be encouraged to bring dinner in and eat a meal in community before the large group meeting.
