Membership at Revive Church

We believe in the power of community. Membership is more than just signing up—it’s a commitment to living and loving like Jesus alongside a group of believers who will walk with you in your faith journey.

Why Does Membership Matter?

Ephesians 4:10-16 tells us three reasons why membership in the local church is important in the Christian life.

You need the body of Christ

The body of Christ needs you

The world needs our witness

Frequently Asked Questions About Membership

At Revive, we see the church as a body—a community where every person has a unique role and purpose. Just as the Bible describes in 1 Corinthians 12:12, “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” We each bring something valuable to the table, working together under Jesus, the head of the church, to make an impact and grow in faith.

Membership is also part of how we ensure shared accountability and leadership within our church. Revive is congregationally governed, which means that members (not just staff and elders) help make key decisions—whether it’s voting for church leadership, approving the budget, or shaping the future of our ministries. We value having faithful, dedicated members who prayerfully and thoughtfully contribute to these decisions. Together, we’re not just a gathering but a body with a mission, supporting each other and continuing Jesus’ work in our world.

At Revive, being a member means moving from simply attending to actively investing in the life and mission of our church. While attendees are welcome to join us in worship, connect in groups, and benefit from our ministries, members commit to the deeper responsibilities and privileges of belonging to our church family.

Members don’t just participate; they take ownership by supporting the church’s mission with their time, talents, and resources. They commit to caring for one another, upholding church values, and contributing to decisions that shape our direction, like voting on leadership and financial matters. Membership is a commitment to grow alongside others, serve faithfully, and stand together as one body in Christ.

Revive Church is more than a place to gather—it’s a family committed to supporting, praying for, and serving each other. If you’re already attending services, connecting with a small group, and giving of your time and resources, you’re living out many aspects of membership. But making an official commitment allows us to know you better and provide the pastoral care and community support that comes with full membership.

As a member, you also have a voice in important decisions. Revive is congregationally governed, meaning that our church leaders are accountable to the people who call Revive Church their home. Each year, we gather to reflect on where God has led us and to discuss our direction for the future. These meetings are a time when members engage in major votes that help shape the life of our church.

If you’re still exploring faith, there’s no need to think about membership yet. But if you’re a Christian who’s been growing with us, consider searching your heart to understand any hesitation. Membership isn’t about perfect people or signing your life away—it’s about saying “yes” to a deeper commitment to a community of faith. And if you have questions, we’re always here to talk with you about it.

A covenant is a promise, a commitment we make to God and each other, where we stand by our word regardless of the actions of others (2 Tim. 2:13). Just as a marriage covenant binds a husband and wife in mutual commitment, a covenant at Revive binds us together in faith and shared purpose as a church family.

When we ask members to sign a covenant, it’s not a legal contract or a ritual—it’s a commitment to uphold Revive’s mission and values. It’s our way of affirming that we’re all in this together, accountable to God and one another as we grow in faith and serve our community.

Yes, baptism is a foundational step in becoming a member. It’s an outward expression of your personal faith in Jesus and commitment to follow Him. If you haven’t been baptized yet, we’d love to walk with you through that process as part of your journey to membership.
